I haven't seen enough of this to pass any real comment but I recorded a couple of programmes from this channel last night, to see what it was like. It is always nice to see new channels launching, reminds me of the glory days of Sky Digital about 10-12 years ago. This probably isn't one of the better examples though, I don't think it's going to be the next Friendly TV, but these are hard times and ths is the first interesting channel launch for a long time. Everything is currently broadcast in squashed 4:3, including the adverts. I expect that is a problem caused by their host channel Controversial TV though.

This is the kind of channel that will probably go largely unnoticed, except in ten years time when a clip from one of their programmes will be shown on The One Show because they are interviewing someone who once appeared on this channel while working their way up. Talking of which, they have a presenter called Matt Lorenzo, I predict big things for him. Like all good channels, they have their own talent show, called 'The Pitch'. This too is something I expect would actually be more interesting to record, bury in a time capsule, dig up in 4 - 7 years time and spot which of the contestants are now presenting I'm a Celebrity Get me Out of Here Now! 2022. Just like we all wished we had recorded L!veTV's Stand up L!ve.

One of the programmes I recorded was a book review show, it was boring and badly edited with absolutely no redeeming features whatsoever. However, I saw three names in the credits that I recognised, Chuck Thomas, Simone Thorogood and Stuart Headlam. Fans of Quizmania will also know these names, could this channel lead to the return of Quizmania? Probably not.

Can you provide any caps for those without access to Sky?

EDIT: Is this anything like Nuts TV? Does it feature Big Cook Little Cook's Stephen Marsh and Daniel Richard-Wright?

Don't you mean Nation 217(Nation 277)'s? Stephen Marsh and Daniel Richard-Wright?

No, I mean Nuts TV's Stephen Marsh and Daniel Richard-Wright, but I mentioned their lesser known programme Big Cook Little Cook.

Matt Lorenzo formerly of Sky Sports, GMTV, London Tonight and ITV Sport? Sounds like a bit of a comedown compared to his previous gigs rather than "big things".

If you enjoyed the Amy Childs 'news' bits on the Channel 4's VIP earlier this year (see here) then you will also enjoy LTV News as it is basically the same thing.

This channel seems to be in it's worthy "original content" stage at the moment. Like when Nation 277 showed comedy sketches, hidden camera bits and chat shows, all done on the cheap. Like when Friendly TV did chat shows, computer game shows and quiz shows all done on the cheap. Like when Game In TV did magic shows, comedy sketches and a dog racing documentary (The Stow), all done on the cheap apart from The Stow which looked quite professional. Those three channels settled down and stuck to one format when they worked out what actually made them money. Nation 277 going with call-in quizzes, Friendly TV going with the Babecast format and Game in TV going down the fixed odds betting route, mainly using content from Avago.

It will be interesting to find out what format Loaded TV ends up taking (I am still hoping it will involve bringing back Quizmania), but it is almost interesting to watch now to see how they get there. Interestingly, many of the programmes are presented by the guy who now owns the Loaded brand. He certainly seems to have some money to throw at this channel, so I would imagine the worthy stage will last until he gets board of the project. There is an article about him here... http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2012/apr/29/loaded-magazine-men-baxendale-walker

The video posted above looks similar to a early 90s regional farewell programme on ITV with the addition of very bored looking glamour models and a bloke dad dancing.

The odd thing is that it probably cost quite a lot to put that together. As I understand it, glamour models don't come cheap. The programme also featured a terrible boy band and a comedian along with a studio audience who may or may not have been paid to be there. It clearly wasn't live as the bad edit at the start of the video shows, and I think they actually missed midnight too. Like most of the programmes on Loaded TV, it just comes across as Paul Chaplin paying people to hang around with him.

Saying that though, I am looking forward to their 2013 in to 2014 programme already.
