Who exactly would count as "old school" now ? They are all either dead or retired, I can only think of Parkinson on ITV who would fit that bill, and it's hardly his kind of show is it ?
We live very much now in the Russell Brand generation, outrageous comedians or graduated kids TV presenters.
Potentially Tarrant, he's done the linking in between clips thing before.

"Should we show the next batch of out-takes? Is that your final answer? I'll ask the audience, then go 50:50, then phone a friend."

I still miss Auntie's Bloomers...but obviously that was a BBC show. I think the last time I saw that was when they had to break for a news report about the Queen Mother's death.

Tarrant on TV has not been axed.
The main obstacle however would appear to be fitting in filming it while also doing Millionaire (which seems to take on ever increasing series lengths and airings every time it comes back to air) and his radio show and other commitments as and when.
