I appreciate the sentiment behind these posts but unless they have a strong connection with television, is this really the place?

A bit harsh! In addition to her film career she appeared in over 50 tv series and one offs so not exactly tenuous.

Her impact on television presentation - particularly her influence on the ‘Next slide’ - is well documented.

I wasn't trying to cause bother by posting. Can I suggest to the mods that a new "Celebrity" sub-forum be made for these events?

Or a generic 'famous TV people who have snuffed it' thread in the same was as there's one for sport things that doesn't warrant it's own thread

It’s a difficult one because someone may have a particular fondness for them but for it’s worth remembering whether creating a topic would actually trigger a worthwhile conversation.
