Around 15 minutes ago, Most Haunted Live suddenly switched over to BBC Parliament. It was replaced after about 10 secs with a tech fault caption, then returned to BBC Parliament for a few more seconds.

This was followed by a voiceover apology and a couple of minutes of Promos for Most Haunted Live.

It then returned to the programme. Around 5 minutes later at the commercial break Host Paul Ross apologised for the loss of transmission stating they had no idea why it happened.

The live announcer handled it very well. Made a joke of it being very strange during Most Haunted.

THis is a bit odd - do Red Bee handle playout for Living now? Even if they do, it doesn't really explain how Parliament got onto the feed instead of the OB as AFAIK Reb Bee have almost nothing to do with Parliament's playout. I presume this was down to a switching failure at somewhere like BT Tower...

I think Red Bee have taken over Parliament now haven't they? I know they used to use Millbank Studios/ITV, but I'm sure that switched some time back...

Impressed by the live continuity though. I had assumed that Living continuity was pre-recorded. I half expected a another Virgin or BBC announcer to mention something!

It seems to be happening more regularly lately - not that long ago BBC1 found itself on ITV1 (or was it vice-versa) for a few minutes, whilst there's always tales of porn channels turning up where they shouldn't!

BBC channels ending up on the wrong BBC channels would be kind of understandable, but for other companies to end up on other networks is just unacceptable really, and the systems in place shouldn't allow that to happen at all.

Like what? TV companies have to share lines, satellites and the like. There would be no way to segregate every TV station's inputs totally from all others.

Red Bee have handled the playout for Virgin Media TV (ex Flextech) channels since 2006.

It looks a bit too clean a cut to be a BT issue and the picture quality of BBC Parliament looks too good too. I suspect it's a routing mistake

Living does come from Red Bee and although BBC Parliament comes from Millbank it might be available on their router. I don't know if the lines into Red Bee for Living and the like pass through the BBC's CCA but if so BBCP would definately be on the router there.
