I'm interested in applying for work as a subtitler, either with IMS or Red Bee. Does anyone on here work in that field and have any tips? I see some companies offer homeworking as an option...does anyone know how long training takes...and what shifts are like ultimately!? Many thanks

You need be training for notetaker first step then other training for type for subtitles.

Of course, some people can already proficiently type at the speed of human speech, and even though it is perfectly possible to demonstrate such a skill in front of an employer in less than 10 minutes, you will still have to pay for years of training, in something that you can already do. Not that I'm bitter.

Most live subtitling involves someone re reading what a person says into a microphone.
