Well I guess Melinda has realised that continuing can only do harm to her career - whereas Kate doesn't have one...
Melinda was always the odd-one-out on the show - she's actually not bad as a presenter - and is capable of being much better than this format allows her to be. Unfortunately, I don't think she'll ever truly escape her Page 3 past...
So the show is still miraculously surviving! I don't know how the viewing figures look like tho, help someone please?
They are obviously confident of the presenter line-up too as they have just launched a Twitter feed and Facebook profile both called IanMelindaKate.
The Facebook account has now gone and the twitter feed doesn't seem to have been updated for a while. I'm not sure when they gave up on them but it was always a stupid idea to name it after the presenters anyway.
She's gone? Oh no, It's a sad day for British Journalism.
Amen to that
Seriously, though, I can't see how this programme can sustain itself without Melinda. Whenever I've seen it - admittedly for only a few minutes here and there - Melinda has been the most credible of the three presenters. Both Ian Wright and Kate Walsh are, frankly, grating.

Yep - Melinda is actually not bad as a presenter. She can be a bit one-note - but she's quite warm, and is a lot brighter than people give her credit for. She's certainly a MUCH better presenter than Kate and Ian...
Who's hosting tonight? Flicking past there was 1 man, two girls, one blonde and one brunette. Has Melinda dyed her hair or something, or is someone hosting for her, anyways, the titles look strange anyway, as the brunette, however she is, isn't in them.
I think Studio Five has had a bit of a raw deal. I had my reservations about the show at first but I think its actually grown into an alright show. I don't watch it all the time but its something to watch when there is nothing else on. But the reason I think it has had a raw deal is because it replaced Five News and it was originally billed as a news debate show. What Five
should
have done is had a Five Newshour at 5pm with Studio Five at 7pm for an hour. Then if the Five Newshour didn't work, ditch it and put it back to half an hour but without reinstating the 7pm bulletin. Thats the problem- on its own its quite a good show, it just isn't filling the news remit very well.
