So on Monday 14th Live from Studio Five kicked off on FIVE. From 6:30 auntil 7:30, the show hosted by Ian Wright, Melinda Messenger and Kate Walsh, the show is described as an evening news and entertainment show with a difference. A mix of celebrity interviews, gossip and banter wrapped around a popular news agenda that everyone's talking about.

So did we think?

Here are some pictures of the new show:

The whole thing imo was a mess. The show was rushed and presenters butted in on eachothers interviews. The interivews!! LAME!! With Melinda repeating the same questions over and over again, and members of the crew shouting some question prompts, it was all over the place. I hope it finds it's feet and becomes a bit more stable, but the low viewing figures say it all really.

I really hate how they butt into each other!!

The ratings halved throughout the show, that says it all. I watched a bit yesterday and a bit today to see whether there has been an improvement, and there has. Although it is still shocking it is better. Kate and Melinda work OK, but what they really need is a journalist to anchor the show and give it some gravitas, because at the minute it all feels a little but amateur and too entertainment based to be a topical debate show, despite covering news stories.

I think its just plain WRONG how they've got 'Five's Political Editor' on the show, joking between questions, its just all a bit weird.

I don't like Ian Wright. He is full of self importance and tries to undermine the girls who do seem to have some genuine chemistry. Critics of The ONE Show can eat their hats!

This is just disgusting, talking about the Iraqi man who was arrested for throwing his shoes at Bush, and we have Ian Wright saying:

"Apparently you could hear him getting battered round the corner"

Agreed. They should have based the presenters (and pres style) on Liquid News. Actual journos who can straddle that gap between news and trivial stuff. But they're harder to find (as Liquid sadly found out when their original host died).

Ian should give the girls breathing room to speak, he's always overlapping them.

Ian should be replaced by a male Five News newsreader. I'm all for the show being light hearted but not to the point where it can't be taken seriously as a current affairs show which is the state it is currently in. It is by no means beyond repair or dead on arrival, they just need to use the format correctly and I'm sure it will be a hit but in its current state it is going to be axed by the end of the year.

It makes 'Fox & Friends' look like Newsnight and has revealed new hidden depths to 'The One Show'.
