I'm never one to give the Sun the benefit of the doubt but I wonder if that was a plant like their appearance on The One Show seems to be.

Inside No.9 is LIVE on BBC Two right now, small issue with sound early on.

You got caught out too? Laughing

Has it really been axed?

And just like that we give up and go to a old episode

EDIT: Its all part of the LIVE show

The joke of course is that the episode that was supposedly being shown. from series 1 is a silent comedy.... there was no dialogue in it

And then a ghost appeared at the window. That's when it all clicked for me. Genius episode!

The scene with them changing channels on the TV was definitely live... they really did tune to what was on BBC1 at that moment.

Yep, Mishal Husain on the Ten with a bit of VT about the Brazil elections. A nice little technique to prove it was live, also used when Derren Brown "predicted" the Lottery numbers in 2009.

But it was a slightly risky gamble in this case, e.g. images of the Leicester City helicopter crash would have been unfortunate and rendered it inappropriate for repeats.

Ghostwatch anyone

Ghostwatch meets Chris Morris's Jam.

I was fooled at first but did think they abandoned it quite quickly. However my justification was that after missing a few mins the timeline would be all messed up so you can’t really keep trying to fix it.

After that point I wondered if something was up.

Wonder if they would replace the image of the news for repeats if something horrible was on it?

Academic now...

I’m trying to work out which parts were live. Was the CA live? Reece’s helmet cam in night vision didn’t appear to be, but what about the non-NV bits?

The rehearsal probably wasn’t but all other studio bits were I think?

Anyone have video of it?

And most famously, Jasper Carrott:

I don't see why it would, it would at least provide a context of the date the programme was made/set.
What would make it difficult for repeats is if the footage seen was something whose rights expired after today.

From a TVF perspective it's a good thing the regional news wasn't on as it was set in Manchester but they wouldn't have got North West Tonight in that telly (not that it would have been I suppose as they would have timed it exactly)

I wouldn't have thought so, with all the complexity of the programme to have to cue in a voice over adds another unnecessary complication. Plus the ' VT' inserts were obviously used for scene changes in the studio.

Was it the same announcer who was on BBC Two last night? it did sound like her

Incidently I'd never heard of that fire at Granada that destroyed the props of Jewel in the Crown

EDIT: BBC Two's twitter feed was playing along:

The Fire also destroyed the master tapes for the indoor scenes.... So Granada had to reshot alot stuff..

Jewel in the Crown was filmed entirely, err, on film, not tape. I do remember the fire, and yes, they did have to reshoot scenes

It's mentioned in the Goodbye Granadaland documentary (the bit on Jewel in the Crown starts around 27m)
