Inside no.9 is normally the latter... and they're not disappointing tonight. Brilliant stuff

And just like that we give up and go to a old episode
EDIT: Its all part of the LIVE show
The joke of course is that the episode that was supposedly being shown. from series 1 is a silent comedy.... there was no dialogue in it
Has it really been axed?

The scene with them changing channels on the TV was definitely live... they really did tune to what was on BBC1 at that moment.
A lot of people on Twitter were fooled, hope not many people turned over when the old episode came on. I fell for it, I was genuinely gutted for them
Ghostwatch anyone

Reminds me of an episode of Bo Selecta which supposedly falls off air, and during the "fault" C4 go over to the Big Brother house for some news, which tied back into the show. Looking back now, it was all far too quick and convenient, but I have to give props to those to make a fake breakdown as convincing as possible.

The CA was too polished and though feigned hesitation, watching it again you can kind of tell it was scripted. Though it did make it slightly more believable when they attempted to go back to the programme, only for it to still be in silence.
Usually the CA just reads out what the slide says and leaves the viewer in silence judging the BBC's recent efforts. And of course the decision to revert to a different programme was taken far too quickly than what would usually be done.
One thing can be said though, if that is what the breakdown slide is, it's a bit boring. Would be something if it was animated but to opt for the blandest 2 rendition in static is a bit disappointing.
So, I wonder if the breakdown slide was shown by pres (as in, like a proper breakdown) or part of the programme production.
