The crowd don't seem to be very animated at the best of times. There seemed to be more atmosphere at T4 on the Beach!
I know, the whole thing seems a bit flat. The show needs a kick up the a*se if it wants to be remembered in 20 years time. At the minute i'm sorry to say it's been instantly forgettable.

Nice moment earlier in the afternoon when Ferne went around talking to the public asking one guy "are you just here for the music?" obviously expecting an "of course not" and him saying "yes!" before hastily saying "no" and thinking up words related to this"...erm, Live Aid, Africa, G8 err..."
I agree with the comments about the crowd being a bit flat - it's not coming across great onscreen. Maybe they should pump some crowd noise into that nicked London Eye pod Jonathan Ross is in...

Missed off the "...and awkward" from the start of that last post!
Anyone know how other countries are showing it? Just checked an Australian TV guide and their cable channel FOX is showing the whole thing with Nine doing a highlights package. Would FOX being showing the BBC feed complete with Rossy?

I think it's abc news that are carrying the whole "Africa Calling" (Cornwall) gig throughout today...
Personally, I'm enjoying the whole thing. I think the idea behind it is quite clever and the execution seems excellent.
Nostalgia ain't what it used to be either. I watched most of the original Live Aid - it happened, then was forgotten about for years. As the 80s turned into the 90s and nostalgia kicked in, Live Aid suddenly became a shared life highlight for everyone. When it wasn't, really.
As a reasonably cynical 31 year old, I am enjoying this more than I enjoyed Live Aid as a naive and enthusiastic 11 year old.
ADDITION: The BBC coverage is absolutely superb. Mind you, you can always trust them to do their jobs on a huge event like this.
Which bloody genius decided to keep the tennis on BBC1? I scheduled my video player (unfortunately used one without PDC/Video+) to record BBC1 from the advertised time and I just came in about 15 minutes ago so I don't know how much I missed before I switched it to record BBC2.
EPG has been updated with coverage continuing on BBC Two until 5.30pm now.
No chance of that now.
They've just said on BBC1, that this is the longest Ladies Final since 1970!
Starting almost an hour late didn't help either. The very optimistic 4pm swap over is now a distant memory
EDIT: It's actually the longest since 1949 now, what are the chances of that happening!
