Live 8 2005

Was it me or did I hear boos in France when Jonathon Ross was introducing each of the countries having concerts at 2pm?

I heard the same thing!

I'm thinking a few things...
1) Did Wossy mispronounce the location
2) Are the French being uppity with the forthcoming Olympic announcement
3) Are the French just being .... French

I know it's only 20 minutes in..but i'm not getting a sense of 'Live Aid' style history in the making feeling. It's Party in the Park with better acts. But like i said is it's only 20 minutes in...

I wonder how many of the people who are there today are there because they believe strongly about the message...and how many are there for the free concert.

As you say - it is too early to tell. ISTR that Live AId didn't really feel like it had that "world changing" status until Queen played.

For me the scale of the Hyde Park event is amazing - and U2 were cracking.

The stage sound is a LOT better than 1985 - and the stage coverage is pretty damn good as well.

Bill Gates on stage at 15.22 introducing Dido. Now that's gotta be historical!!!

Yeah, as soon as Bill Gates came on, I had to reformat my TV to the last known restore point!

I don't think he even knows who she is - they totally ignored each other whilst walking on to the stage!

Bet Dido never thought she'd get introduced by Bill Gates of all people!

Shame Bill Gates didn't give us a number!


A couple of presentation points: Firstly, Chris Martin saying if the BBC didn't show the following video, they weren't doing their job - then the BBC being unable to show the video!


Also, is it Live? We had Bono say a "****" but it seemed to be dipped out, though not quick enough to completly miss it!
