Oh dear!!
Midland Mainline went on strike today so it was even a problem getting to London for us in the East Mids! The poor people have got no hope of getting home now do they!! they should just all stay in Hyde Park for the night - surely there will be guards or something looking after all the stage and equipment etc, so they'd all be really safe.

Well Silverlink Trains were asking people to be at Euston for 10:30 at the LATEST... the line closes for engineering work at midnight!
I think there's going to be one or two more people sleeping rough than normal in London tonight...

Not wishing to sound too unsympathetic, but "the poor people" only really have themselves to blame. They chose to go, and it was always bound to overrun, and - providing you're not so tightly closed in that you can't actually leave the crowd - they've had plenty of time to check when their last trains etc. are. Far more sensible to leave early rather than endure the rush anyway - same as any other popular event.
I would imagine the tube/buses will keep running so people can get around London (assuming Tfl don't do that thing where they randomly close tube stations) but further afield you're on your own.

Midland Mainline were on strike, they previously striked every Friday but moved it to Saturday this week. Apparantly nothing to do with trying to ruin Live 8 for the people of South Yorkshire and the East Midlands!

Like that, you mean?
I know what you're saying about the people that are still there - but would you want to leave the biggest concert the world has ever seen at 10pm? After spending the money on obtaining the tickets, travelling to London, and standing in Hyde Park for almost half a day? I certainly wouldn't!

I'm not sure, but is it true what I heard that they will be fined for going on after 10:30pm? Noise pollution or something like that?
Surely nobody would fine a charity!

Not sure what time it was meant to finish in the park, but BBC1's London coverage was meant to finish at 9:50pm and then they'd show the concert from Philladelphia till 3:35am.
