Liquid News Tonight

Hi everyone!

Eek. Watching that back is quite painful! Isn't it odd how you imagine yourself on how you sound and look and then see yourself on film! I had a fantastic day there though. I got picked up and we went to see Mr Lambie-Nairn himself for that interview [With a signed book! ] and then onto TVC for adding to the report with me in the LN studio. It was so bizarre walking into the office and seeing all the reporters and especially Chris sat at his day typing away and trying to flog me Jane Mcdonald videos!
Sadly everyone seemed very busy to ask about getting the idents on VHS. That headline story was still being edited at 6.55! But there was two tapes on digibeta - one with numerous of the old ones (inc. Steam/Firecracker) and the new tape with the Fish, the Bounce and the others. Actually, I think the best part of the idents is the music - certainly to fish. One to tape announcerless hopefully on next week's closedown!

And just in case anyone isn't digital ready take a look at BBC One Thursday night/Friday morning at 00.05.

I think we will all grow to like the new 2's eventually, at least we've all got videos to look back on of the old ones. I am probably one of the youngest on this forum, I am 15, my memory goes back to 1991, with the majority of the '2' idents in my mind as I used to watch Captain Scarlet, Thunderbirds & Stingray on their 1991 reruns, I still love those shows. I will be recording Liquid News tonite, I'm glad I realized and logged on tonite. Glad 2 see Paint and Neon just a minute ago on 2, bring back some more from '91 BBC!

Actually Larry, that's not quite right. A special Hallowe'en ident in 1992 saw the '2' partially covered with red paint; a spoof of the original Paint ident.

No, seriously, well done. I haven't seen it because I was enjoying the cultured delights of a French film in Mold (true), but I'll make an effort to see it a little later.

Anyway, what's this obsession with what everyone looks like? My friends see me every day, if you really wanted a photo I'm sure one of them could sort you out with something. And I'm pretty sure I'll meet someone from this forum in the not too distant future, so fear not. My day will come soon.

You should've asked me and noggin - we could do with some exposure I've always wanted to be on the telly, I only dream of such a thing heheheh - I think I'd like to be an announcer!

Don't wory Geraint - I'm sure youll make network one day, after all they can't keep you locked up in that broom-cupboard in Llandaf forever - can they??
