Well I can't say the programme has been particularly good whenever I've watched it since the sad death of the great Christopher Price. I'm surprised it's taken them so long to axe it, it was Christopher's show and lost it's sparkle long ago.

They already have a proper news show. The 7 o'clock news is a proper news show, at 7 o clock.

Liquid News isn't supposed to BE a proper news show. That argument's like saying Newsround should be axed because they've got the Daily Politics.

I can't believe their getting rid of their finest asset. It's as though Murphy has pushed the self destruct button in order to make his mark. Perhaps he feels he needs to do something drastic for some reason?

Yes Das. I know liquid news isn't supposed to be a proper news show, thats why i said that they already have a proper news show, the 7 o clock news, which is one. I was speaking after CPFC commented on liquid news should be axed and replaced with a proper news show.

OK, apologies. I skimmed CPFPFPC's post for some reason...

Well, Ive been forced onto the other thread. How typical. But anyway, back on topic, I've actually found the show a bit boring recently, they may replace it with a proper news show, rather than that plastic thing they've got on at the moment.

Confused I wouldn't call it 'typical' - I personally haven't had to close a duplicate thread for a long time, and I haven't noticed the other mods doing so either. We can't have two threads open for the same item, and strictly speaking, 'Spencer For Hire' posted before you. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

I didn't intend for an argument to start. No offence intended, but I'm sure you realise it may be a bit frustrating for me considering I was only a few secs behind.

Frustrating? Someone needs to get out a bit more methinks. It's not the end of the world, dear.

It was his show however Paddy on his own was doing a wonderful job. I'm not sure the two handed approach is a good one. Claudia is good but they should have just Paddy on his own.

I cannot see why they are doing this - it's the flagship show and it is such a good one, the only show that makes fun of the daftness that is celebrity when there are so many shows that suck up to it.

I predicted this when first the Sunday edition was axed (only lasted at least a year or so), then the Friday edition.

I think it's time to say bye-bye to BBC3, it hasn't lived up to what was expected, it's had a reasonable amount of time to prove itself. Time for the £100 million BBC3 budget to be redistributed elsewhere.

I'd replace with a "BBC Extra" or "BBC Encore" channel that shows a mixture of BBC programmes at different times to their main channel, and perhaps shows them a day or a week ahead or something.

I think it was just getting back up to Christopher Price standard again...and they axe it!

I am a little shocked that the axe has fallen, but unfortunately not surprised. Since the Death of the very very nice Christopher Price, for me anyway, the show has not been the same, and since it’s been on BBC THREE its not been as good too. The CHOICE days of the show were SO SO much better. It was such a must watch show when it was on CHOICE and I watched it everyday, but now, if I miss it then I'm not bothered. If Chris was still here, the show would still be going 5 nights a week and still be a strong. I do like Claudia and Paddy a little. I do think Colin was very good too, and I much prefer him to paddy. I do think the ratings have really gone down for the show, which is a shame.

Anyway, I'm sure this is just Three’s way of saying Goodbye to everything CHOICE and making way for new THREE stuff (Just as long as its not as piss poor as Fightbox and all the other cr*p three sometimes has).
I'm sure another Entertainment show will come along but unfortunately; I think we will never see Claudia present anything on THREE again. Paddy might just never be seen again if it weren’t for Celebdaq.

A case of "what if" Christopher was still around I guess. I've never really managed to watch it much as being at uni weekdays means I miss it but what I did see didn't seem to be particularly bad or in need of axing. The magic and subtle sarcasm poked at celebs and the general (rightful) contempt at the entertainment industry did seem to be lost since the relaunch though. I feel sorry for everyone involved. They must have been so exciting about being the flagship BBC Three programme when the channel began and to just be told 'that's it' must be devastating.

As to Stuart Murphy's twaddle about "However, BBC Three is a constantly evolving channel and tough decisions have to be made to make it constantly refresh its output to best serve the audience." , I'd love to see what they come up with. When football and EastEnders repeats make up the highest viewing figures (which they're not only going by, of course. Ahem...) , it's not a good channel to be involved with.
