Viewers in Scotland got a new offering from the Comedy Unit last night - Limmy - a Glaswegian video blogger I've seen on YouTube .

His show is available via the iPlayer. I'd be interested to know what Scots thought, if they watched it - and if anyone outwith Scotland could even understand either the accent or the style of humour.

Personally I think its the freshest, funniest thing I've seen in years. I'm a complete fan already.

Ok I just watched it and the only thing I found funny was the endless Waking sketch. But looking at it in another way, it is a fascinating commentary of the inner thoughts of a person, and perhaps the humour comes from people's own experiences in Scotland.

And I don't get why people would have trouble understanding the accents. Rab C Nesbitt had much broader accents, and I never had a problem, but I am half scottish through my Dads side, so I grew up hearing the accents, and my Nan could be as bad as Rab C on some subjects. Laughing

Not so much funny, but an inciteful commentary IMO...

It shouldn't really be viewed as a social commentary, any more than "Lauren" typifies English schoolchildren. It was, very much, supposed to be funny.

I did wonder if it would have the same "Rab C Nesbit" effect - where people assume that's all Glasgow is about. That's the risk when you're poking fun at neds and ex-junkies.

I didn't mean a commentary on scotland, I just ment an insight into one particular person's own mentality, a social commentary from one very weird and unique person's eyes...
