No I won't. Hymagumba argued that ITV was bad because they cancelled Crossroads. He cannot see why Crossroads was cancelled so I am telling him why Crossroads was cancelled.
But you go on and on about it, you make it sound as if you can't leave it alone and that Matthew Maude is the worst person in the world ever just because he replaced Kieran Hardcastle as Scott in the show. Frankly that's really what disturbs me more than your other thoughts on Xroads.

Given that he looks at Neil Jones' site quite a lot and helps out with compliancy issues over there, Neil's written it all down himself, I shouldn't have to explain.
Only made nine changes, not as if he's redone the entire site.

EDIT: Quick reminder that I didn't spout out my "anti-Crossroads" babble and "Crossroads is crap full stop" spiel again. I've seen the argument mostly from ITV's point of view and backed my arguments up with facts and figures, most which can be credited to Planet Crossroads, namely Neil's "biography" of the show and the news articles hosted there.
But this is it - see above.

My new name, Neil is because when I thought better of my rant the other Saturday night I found my username deleted. I was feeling low, depressed, lonely, fed-up, pathetic and I felt like my life was going nowhere. Now that was most certainly not over the forum, believe me, that was over my own life. The way I was treated on TV Forum just tipped it for me. I made a mistake, I'm sorry. I'm not asking for forgiveness but don't dismiss something I write out of hand when anyone else writing it would have it taken seriously.
It wouldn't be so bad if you could let the Xroads thing go for a few posts here and there. You're the only one now who still goes on about it every chance you get. Just let it rest, do some talk on other topics without mentioning Xroads, you'll get your respect back. Go and post some useful comments on the new CITV look for example, or the new ITV1 idents, or the new Skateboard ident on BBC One.
I think that ALL members who take a thread off topic to discuss Crossroads should get a warning from the mods, as it's very irritating to other members.
I think one of the most annoying things about ITV-1 is the lack of commercial air time.
If I was a stockholder of Granalton, I would be pressing OFCOM to allow more commercial breaks.
Which brings me on to another issue -- infomercials. Why in this day and age of enlightened capitalist free market thinking, ITV-1 is not allowed to carry paid programming is beyond me. It is about time that people were given what they want and allowed to watch quality entertainment covering such educational and informative topics as "Helsinki Hair Formula for Men", "Garden Weasels", etc.
It is such bureaucratic nanny state regulations such as these which prevent ITV-1 from shining in its true glory and preventing its stockholders from getting a decent quarterly divident check in the mail.
ITV are now the worst for censoring their films. BBC1 used to be the worst, but now don't touch films and get a gold star from me.
Do ITV think the British so backward that we can't handle a bit of rumpy-pumpy or the F word? Why show films like Die Hard if you are going to cut all the good bits out?
The thing I hate about ITV1 is the fact that News at Ten always moves times, and the way they chop movies in half. I thought they'd stop doing this in 1998, but hey...

Well, it's one or the other. Tomorrow they screen Dante's Peak with a late news bulletin, but next week Mission Impossible 2 is split for News at Ten - while tonight's premiere of The Thin Red Line is buried at 11pm - a prefered tactic for me (runs continuously - ad slots diminish in the later stages), but not for the majority I imagine.

I hate infomercials, especially the ones that are shown where they are not appropriate to be shown (the ab flab toner one for example keeps turning up at lunchtime on Challenge). Perhaps they should launch "Infomercial TV" instead and stick them all on there with a +1 channel in case you missed the number first time round
No, infomercials should stay off of ITV1 full stop. Surely ITV would want to run two or three commercials (for three lots of money) instead of one long one for one lot of money.
Good branding and idents. Nice sophisticated new theme music. Classy promotion style graphics. DO not like the announcers at all. I dont want to hear a Scottish person speaking to me in Wales!
I really like all the ITV News presenters - especially Jon Suchet and Nicolas Owen.
Regional News on ITV1 is also 'better' than the BBC1 equivalent.
ITV News is more tabloidy and accessible to the the general public than stuffy BBC News Programmes. I couldnt even name more than five news presenters on the BBC atm - they once ruled the news domain but have lost their stronghold to ITV and SKY.
Programme-wise I think BBC and ITV are increasingly producing programmes for the SAME audience and this shows with the schedules being full of Pop Idol vs Fame Academy, From Hell vs Britains Worst, Bargain Hunt vs Everything must go etc etc
Both channels have always copied each other throughout history but currently both channels are VERY similar. Personally I would choose to watch ITV1 now as Eastenders has totally lost the plot and is just plain boring revolving around the few good story lines it once had. Whereas Coronation Street is being a bit more ridiculous and exploring new areas but still keeping its older fanbase happy with lighter stories aswell.
I am really getting into The Bill again lately and thoroughly enjoy it! Whereas I used to be a staunch Casualty viewer but since its been soap-ified by the BBC i just cannot bear it. Especially seeing all the ex grangehill/the bill/eastenders actors appearing in it! I know The Bill suffers from a similar fate but its a bit more believable and always done tongue in cheek!
Of course ITV was originally set-up to provide regional tv but the broadcasting industry (and technology) has changed and so ITV has to change aswell.
ITV are still the only tv provider supplying regional tv to different parts of the UK. So this is still a plus in my eyes!
ITV daytime seems to be back on track with favourites like Trisha, This Morning and Des and Mel. A line up that is again proving popular! Once youve seen one DIY/makeover programme youve seen them all. Im glad that ITV havent exploited the DIY genre and only have an odd Carol Vorderman's Better Homes every now and again.
Sport-wise ITV have lost the plot and I dont think they really care as they are aware that all decent sport goes to SKY and that the bottom has fallen out of the sport market and it isnt worth purchasing the rights anymore for the vast figures that some sports are going for!
We just have to accept that ALL sport will be on SKY in ten years time - maybe even the so-called Crown Jewels that the BBC have rights over!
In my eyes BBC and ITV are similar but ITV is more accessible and is actively trying to please the viewers as they HAVE to do this to keep going - whereas BBC just get the money regardless of performance and so comparing these two channels is always going to an awkward choice. They are NOT the same!
It's probably been said but I hate the news breaks inbetween movies. morons. But I like the tonight show (i hate to admit it) hate Trevor McDonald and I like those funky drama's on that start on monday nights. Like suspicion.
I like it because it was done in a BBC sorta way. Cut down on swearing and they havn't made it so common, which is what I expect on ITV.

-Most of their factual programmes have "from hell" in their title
Actually only the "... From Hell" programmes have "From Hell" in their title.
-They flood primetime with soaps,
...that is what the viewers want. Besides, you could say the same about BBC1 with Holby City, Eastenders, Casualty... 17million viewers like soaps whether on ITV or BBC.
-Lisa Riley is not suitable for anything, let alone the rubbish she does now
Lisa Riley is such a nice person - if you've ever met her you'll know. You've Been Framed didn't give her the opportunity to show it because it was very scripted, but she is an actress at heart anyway. She was very good in "Fat Friends".
-Their news is not news, merely a twelve minute slot between parts 1+2 of James Bond films,
That's a little bit naive - ITV beat the BBC with their Iraq war coverage and spent £13million on it. They wouldn't bother if they had no interest in news... not forgetting the ITV News Channel... and yes - their news is (get ready for this...) news. From watching the ITV News I get the same information I could get from the BBC, Channel 4 or five.
-Next up on ITV1, "A touch of Frost",again,
Next up on BBC1, "Only Fools and Horses" - again. Viewers like repeats - for example, on BBC2 there's "Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em" which I like to watch. Besides, both the BBC and ITV are making/have made new episodes of "Only Fool and Horses" and "A Touch of Frost".
-They don't justify the 1 in their channel title, because ITV2 is a quagmire of repeats and trashy add-ons,
ITV2 is one of the most popular digital channels and the most popular on Digital Terrestrial. ITV2 is a well known brand and ITV1 justifies that and brings it inline with the other ITV channels. Does "Channel Four" justify having the word "Channel" in it's title and does "Sky One" justify having the "one" in it's title, seeing as there is no "Sky Two" - you lot would all complain if it became ITV again.
-Their schedules are butchered left and right and are unlikely to be the same next week,
Which shows some variety. The same schedule week in, week out would get boring. Variety is good. The most popular programmes keep their slots anyway - like Eastenders at 8 on BBC1 and Coronation Street at 7:30.
-Regional output is practically invisible, regional news sucks,
Regional news is produced independently by your region. If your regional news sucks, then your region is obviously incapable of producing a decent programme... and you want schedules filling with regional output?
-Stars in their eyes, euughhh...
A programme I, amongst millions, very much enjoy.

On to my own views:
Dislikes:
Too many advert breaks too frequently.
The news is never at a fixed time.
Many programmes are cheap and trashy.
The new ECP.
Breaks in between films for the news.
Likes:
Produces excellent live entertainment programmes (such as Pop Idol, Saturday Night Takeaway).
Home to my favourite soap, Coronation Street and other programmes I enjoy such as SM:Tv.
Has a nice on-screen identity with nice idents.
Produces some excellent Drama Premieres (such as 'Suspicion' last night).
ITV2 is good for repeats and other "extra" programmes.
