BBC iPlayer Campaign

You are spot on! Plus I am one of those who tuned out, because of this ridiculous campaign

Sorry, to clarify, are you saying that you have stopped using iPlayer because of the current advertising campaign?

No, I stopped using it for other reasons.......but this campaign puts me off of ever using it again

Is there something we could do to stop you posting ever again because you are the most depressing person on earth

I think the campaign is a mis-step and the visual of the slogan is shockingly bad IMO.

But I am already a user of iPlayer, and not representative of the general population, so if the viewing figures change, and more people start using it - then it will have proven itself, and my opinion would be moot.

I simply answered to a question that Jamesypoo asked me, that is all. Why is answering a question asked by another user deserves a permanent block? What did I do wrong?

I agree.

You must have very high standards if you think BBC iPlayer is so bad..

I live in Italy, and the Italian counterpart of our public service, RAI Play from RAI, is full of adverts and bad in general.

France.tv, the PSB app in France is similar with commercials at the start of shows and the highest resolution is 1024x576 for all of their VOD content, plus the live streams.

iPlayer has some issues where the template looks dated, but they offer 720p/50fps and have improved the back catalogue content uploaded.

No issues whatsoever with iPlayer but whoever authorised that promo needs eyes testing. Its just shockingly awful, looks like something a child would make and is akin to some of those horrific campaigns the BBC did about 15yrs ago and for which they were rightly criticised (CBBC Where's your head at? and that family on a sofa watching a woman fall to her death)
