To play devil's advocate for a moment, how many other businesses still display a former name on the front of their building?

Although it's not entirely a former name - still used in local programmes such as Granada Reports.

I tend to wonder when this anachronism will be phased out. Granada is a name with a lot of history, but given how it's been systematically wiped out (apart from some overseas sales where I believe they recognised that Granada is a better=known name than ITV?) and given how this sign has now been removed (I'm a little suspicious), I wonder how long before the name disappears offscreen.

They renamed that ITV Global a while back. I think they operate a channel under the Granada name somewhere in the world though.

I remember when that building had the LWT letters on the top in the early 90's, however these got taken down when the LWT Studios became the London Studios. Perhaps the other companies that used the facilities objected to them becoming the ITV studios?

There wasn't a logo on the top of the tower, but there was one facing the river on the studio block.

There was a thread on this a while back with photos

Anglia's studios in Norwich have still got a "Anglia Television" sign on the front, although given what's happened at Granada, I wonder how much longer that sign will be there for?

Isn't it now owned by someone else?

Waterstone's in Piccadilly has still got the "Simpson Piccadilly" sign on the front of the building.

Not quite, it says 'Formerly Simpson of Piccadilly' the signs were put up after Waterstones took over.

Have you seen my replies to the ITV Tyne Tees and Border on Twitter?

I was referring to the main building, Anglia House (not the Magdalen Street building next door which has now been sold off).

Anglia House is a listed building so the 'Anglia Television' sign will probably remain.

I remember as a child (about 8-10 years old) seeing the LWT initials on the top of the tower, however we were driving on the Northbank whereas this was the side on the Southbank facing North & towards the Thames, however this was nearly 20 years ago so the memory may cheat Laughing

The operation in Australia still operates under the Granada moniker I believe.

Isn't Anglia House based in Anglia Square? The Magdalen Street building is in Magdalen Street - the other side of the city - not "next door". (AIUI Epic now operate the former-Anglia studios in Magdalen Street. BBC East's Football League show comes from there last time I watched)

I always thought that the building in the left of this picture was the studio building which got sold off, because it's connected to Anglia House, and the last time I was in Norwich, it had a For Sale (or might have been a To Let) sign outside it.

EDIT: It looks like I was confusing Harwick House (which is next door to Anglia House) with the studios now occupied by Epic. I previously thought that there was only one Anglia TV building in Norwich which was sold off.
