it is the final series as they didn't want it to get stale. There's only so much you can do with a guy in a coma thinking he's in 1973

I think its very wise of them not to make too many as it should go out on a high. So many series these days go stale because they drag them out and carry on making further series.

Agreed, look at Teachers, the first three series was fine, the fourth one lost it's way the same with Shameless.

REPEATS HIMSELF: They have shot 2 different endings.

I'm always sceptical when I hear that Laughing ! I have always been led to believe it is actually too expensive and/or time-consuming to shoot two separate endings in dramas, soaps etc Confused

This second series may be the last but at least we will still get to see Gene Hunt in action in a new spin-off supposedly set during the 1980's - how is HE going to cope with the way the police force has changed since 1973??????

Interesting, my old man said something about series 2 beng set in a different time period to the first series.

Although this hasn't happened with the second series I like the sound of continuing on the character of Gene Hunt a decade down the line

me too Roger. I think when Corrie and Emmerdale say they have filmed multiple endings really they have just done spoiler pictures for the press. Look at Tom King's murder in Emmerdale - they are suppposed to have filmed 11 endings. They would never have time to film several different endings.

Bail seems to have forgotten to post them here so here are the BBC1 trails for Life on Mars, IMO they're excellent:

They did it in Brookside with the Trevor Jordache murder trial, the alternative ending is one their behind the scenes video

I think now though with DVD extras etc. they can probably get their money back by including them - although I'm sure they know perfectly well which end they would use.

The BBC logo isn't quite right in those trailers / posters. It's the wrong font (the C is the most obvious character to look at). The COLOUR looks almost perfect though. I'm wondering if the globe itself is a recon too. I can't tell from that scan of the poster though. I know there is a way of getting the bus stop versions of posters from somewhere, I may have to try that Smile

Slightly different, but at least they made the effort.
Heres a comparison, i used the bottom of Asa's globe and the bottom of JamieC's poster:

IMO the '1' is the give away.

Yeah, the 1 looks fatter than it should really, in fact that's one of the things I noticed about all the characters. The C though, is a lot more rounded than the one in Derek Italic or whatever the real font is, and that's how I first spotted it. Ach, they should've called Dave Jeffery or myself, Laughing
