Another great show it seems, due to start at 9pm on BBC One tomorrow.

Radiotimes review:
"Just when you thought the TV detective drama had been given so many twists it had tied itself up in knots, here's a genuinely innovative and imaginative take on an old genre. John Simm is Det Chief Insp Sam Tyler, who's hit by a car in 2006 and "wakes up" in 1973, wearing a wide collar and flares. He's now a detective inspector in the era of The Sweeney. His antediluvian boss, DCI Gene Hunt (Philip Glenister), thinks little of bullying witnesses and thumping suspects. The all-male CID is wreathed in smoke from fags, and any woman brave enough to stray into this alien territory is belittled and patronised. This sounds silly, but writers Matthew Graham, Tony Jordan and Ashley Pharoah give the drama wit and heart, and Simm and Glenister are the perfect chalk-and-cheese cops. "

Starts Monday January 9th at 9pm on BBC One.

Well it's going to be up against Big Brother and Soapstar Superstar; but I think the latter will not get as high an audience as its first episode & Big Brother does ordinary ratings until there's an eviction.

Oh the BBC are so great aren't they! Laughing

Be fair - when ITV aren't putting out reality rip-offs the Monday night slot is usually filled with a quality Drama premiere!

TO be honest I have watched very little of the ITV Drama Premieres on a MOnday for the past few years - they have been very hit and miss. The ones that have been a hit are usually repeated within 2 months either on ITV1 or ITV2.

BBC, on the other hand have produced top quality drama's on Monday evening for the past 3 or 4 years ranging from Spooks, Hustle, Waking The Dead, Silent Witness, In Deep, Cutting It (first 2 series') Sea of Souls (1st series) and now Life on Mars.

The best thing about BBC Drama's are that they last for at least 57 minutes, compred to 44 minutes, for a 60 minute drama or 66 minutes for a 90 minute drama on ITV
