I know that the majority of the members on this forum are apposed to the BBC One dancers, myself included, but if they were to be withdrawn, what would take their place. I, for one would like to see the Balloon return, but the likelyhood of this happening is very low, as no set of idents have been brought back after being withdrawn. If you were in charge of BBC One, what would you have...

I'd probably do something like British Airways did a few years ago and form various landmarks and symbols (such as the globe) from people... (remember the blinking eye)

I've got this idea of seeing the globe in different things and places - for example a field with a globe cut out of the crops; globe drawn in the sand on a beach etc. Perhaps they could even go as far as the recent Orange advert (where you see a face being made up of many different things - very clever).

that's a really good idea, even the idea that ITV used to form "hearts" out of everyday objects was nice (although it was never used to its full potential).

Some of the BBC One idents are not too bad, Acrobats probably being my favourite, but as somebody else said in another thread, I don't think i've seen anything that really and truely represents any of us from the united kingdom!

I think Ballet represents "Englishness" the most, but the others do represent the different cultures that we have taken parts of into our own culture - for example the latest Tango ident, I suppose even the street with the restaurant tables along it, represents the way Italian restaurants are so popular in the UK. Some might say a crude point but if you think about it I think it makes sense! (There are others - I just can't be bothered to go through them all!)

Didn't think of that one, a good old British ident would be some larking about after 10 pints, a game of darts and then some karaoke down the local...
