we're used to having american and european formats imported onto british tv, but i for one am tired of deal or no deal and generic american crime/forensic drama. what tv companies need to do is set their sights a little further a field for inspiration.

this is where "let's trim our hair in accordance with the socialist lifestyle" comes in. a little gem from north korean state television i found whilst aimlessly browsing bbc online.

it sounds absolutely fantastic.

men with hair that does not conform to the official state-approved hair cut lengths of 1 - 5 cm are named and shamed with their addresses shown on national tv. i think the format would work very well in this country, i mean there are plenty of dodgy barnets around.

michael collie obviously has a fan in pyongyang.

i dread to think what the hair police would make of mdta's victorian-style mop he was sporting a few months back Laughing
