Hope this is in the right forum - a thread to discuss presentational elements of the BBC's coverage of the World Darts Championship.

This year's Championship started today, and I'd better get this over and done with before a certain twosome bring it up; yes, Bobby George is looking as bling-tastic a cockney as he always is and yes, I do still find him appealing.....

One new feature is that if you're watching via Sky (and possibly DTT as well) is that they've gone 'press red' this year. A press of said button enables you to see every match live when play is in progress! A great idea and a facility I've already used!!

It seems to be a year of the underdog; former champions Andy Fordham and Tony David have ALREADY been knocked out!!

Just off to request 'that nine-dart finish' again!

DTT almost always show the same as Sky if nothing of a higher priority is to be shown in the 701-702 slots.
e.g. for Snooker Interactive, Weekday & Sunday afternoons were both channels, Most evenings were 1 channel, and Saturday afternoons were 1 channel, the other Score interactive.

With regard to the presentation, I really find the box that slides out with each darts score annoying. It's never timed right and is just distracting, whats wrong with actually watching the darts hit the board.

Well done Trina Gulliver - Women's World Darts Champion 2005!

Fifth year in a row too; Michael Schumacher would be proud!

The wink of his eye, the manner of his voice, the reminder of my Cockney roots and his character in general!

Kat also loves his bling bling jewellery, his candlelabra, and his fevered brow.

In fact she thinks he's just CHAVtastic.

Loving the "interactive" coverage, except it's not really interactive, just an additional feed, but fab all the same being able to see the games live.

Ted Hanky was just awesome tonight. I'm loving it.

I've also entered the competition to win the chance to play a leg of darts with Bobby on the stage during the interval of the final!

Just read that the BBC has won the rights to the World Darts Championship until 2008, along with the Winmau Championship too!
