Here's a good idea (which is very similar to one on mdta's website, but never mind). Let's have a 'design your own news channel' competition, seeing as we're all so interested in news presentation. Come on, you're all quick to criticise the presentation of existing ones, so let's see what we can all come up with.
Use whatever packages you want, even flash if you must, and design whichever bits of a channel you want, preferably a completely made-up channel.
Apologies for the poor quality, that was caused by me resizing it from 800x600, in MS Photo Editor.

Great stuff!
Come on then everyone, here's your inspiration so get creating! I'll get onto some as well, and we'll have to get someone to judge. Maybe Asa could, seeing as it's his forum?

I'm planning on creating my own news channel this summer, but I don't have any good software. What does everyone use, Photoshop? It's just so d*amn
expensive!
Oh, and how do you all 'paste' the pics in the thread posts?

I have saved myself literally £1000s of pounds by downloading stuff such as Paintshop pro and getting the crack from:
Leading on from Billy's post with the Six O' Clock News from 1988, I downloaded the theme from Isonstine TV, and inserted my voiceover into it, which makes it sound a little bit more realistic, even if I sound weird
