Turns out the BBC have got hold of Brian Conley again, and he's now making is offical TV comeback with what seems to be a new variety show for daytimes on BBC Two.
Let Me Entertain You could be what we are looking for besides music and dancing. The show sees all-comers performing infront of a studio audience doing whatever they want for a £1000 cash prize. Looks to me like a modern day Oppertunity Knocks. I'd say it worth a watch for any variety fans.
As I've said elsewhere, it looks like an audience-participation version of the American talent-show format The Gong Show (which aired on Channel 4 many years ago). Looks interesting, anyway.
Ahh - The Gong Show. Chuck Barris, what a host. Channel Four used to show this when Countdown took a break.
The Gong Show was a mis-understood classic of cheap American television. Rather than going to the expence of making a look-a-like format for British viewers, why not just show repeats of the Gong Show?
Far more entertaining.
Notice how the 13-year old "comedian" robbed one of Conley's jokes about the frosted window on an aeroplane. Is it just me or has this happened alot to Brian, as I've been Joe Pasquale nick a few of his jokes as well.
