^ ^ Well that may be your philosophy and in life it's a great philosophy. However, its as if she has turned her back on the people who voted for her as she begged for votes during the Live shows. It's a real slap in the face to those people, surely. Personally, I rarely watched the X Factor, but having read a BBC News article about her move to the US, it made me quite angry.

She will do better in the USA, the record companies would treat her better. One thing I have noticed about these reality shows is that as soon as one hit faulters they drop them, they don't try & help them if they run into a bit of trouble they just drop them

I dont see why. I voted for her to win the X Factor because she was the best person in the contest. What she does now the X Factor is over is up to her.

Actually Will Young is still doing fairly well, Gareth Gates not so much but that's more Simon Cowell's (or whoever manages them) fault than anyone else

it wasn't only wrong Johnny, but complete nonsensical gibberish. never seen anyone edit an entire post rather than defend it though

Whatever haven't heard of either of them in 5 years. My post basically said that Leona isn't that great and the song is typical of reality TV and I stand by it. How many manufactured acts that have done well for more than a few years (other than Kelly Clarkson and Girls Aloud, and I wonder why...) can you name?

Again wrong a quick check on shows that Gareth Gates last hit was Spirit in the Sky (2003) so yeah FOUR years ago & Will Young's last hit was Who Am I (May 2006) so he's not due for another new single/album till late 2007

Plus he's doing pretty well as an actor now.

I don't see the problem if Leona goes to America. She'll no doubt do much better being coached and produced by some of the best in the business, and it's not like we won't be able to buy her songs just because she's over there.

Liberty X and Will Young also did very well. Liberty X didnt even win Popstars in the first place but did better than the winners.

Then there's Girls Aloud and Lemar.

Edit: just realised he's already mentioned GA.

Well, Joss Stone then.

What's Kelly Clarkson's current relationship with the American Idol people?

ISTR recently there was some hoo hah over her not thanking the AI people for helping her start out or summat?

(Maybe even her refusing to allow her songs to be used for AI, but I could be wrong!)

She also refuses to do interviews with American Idol Rewind.

That's the point I made in my original post..... And what does Will Young's acting career have to do with Pop Idol ? BTW Spirit in the Sky was a Comic Relief song, not a hit.

Look at Shane Ward - it only took him 6 months to write an autobiography. His time in the shoe shop must have been pretty interesting.
