Well it is...sort of. The music played at the end of the trail is most definitely corporate, albeit with the BBC London Live 94.9 jingle mixed in with it.
And there's Gill Sans...and rings...and it's red...
Will this supposed 'non-corporate' look LDN become nationwide over time or has London got it exclusively special again?

I think we've got it special (I say 'we' although I don't live in London!).
It's a similar situation in radio, where BBC London Live (soon to be BBC London 94.9) is completely different in style to all other BBC local radio stations and so accordingly has a different style of logo.
I was worried that I wouldn't be able to complete my BBC regional news location list! All I need now are the placenames from Wales Today and I'm done!

I'm afraid it is - you don't have to live in London to get LWT!!

Not really... I live in Surrey which is the county which no one really wants to cover. Thanks to transmitter coverage (we receive a relay signal from Crystal Palace) we officially fall within both the BBC and ITV London regions, and are doomed to stay there forever.
So they're not going to do the things with the placenames then on the opening titles?
I hate to say it but the BBC LDN titles are 'corporate' - they follow the wider corporate style .. they are just different from the other ones used in the regions. They have similar elements and the 'names' do appear in certain elements of the branding.
I don't think you could watch the new titles (which you'll see from Monday) and say that you don't know it's part of BBC News. Just not the same as the other regions but still 'corporate' ... done by the same design team as all the others.

What I think they should have done a heavy modification of the existing BBC english regions titles for BBC LDN, just like the Nations (except Wales, which uses almost same color scheme as the national news). That way, it would have the same style (ableit with a different color scheme), but would have a different identity just like Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland do.
