The Latest on the SKY NEWS Re launch from ReLaunch

Hi Guys I'm starting a new thread because the other one went off a bit when the QM rumor came round.  By the way the latest on that is a case of wait and see, if she turns upto church tomorrow morning or not.

SKY NEWS RE LAUNCH LATEST -

It seems the re launch will be bigger than first thought, someone asked me the other day about promos etc... Sky are currently in the process of filming some adverts and promos within Sky News Centre to be run on TV and on SKY NEWS.

The presenter line up given before has changed BIG TIME! The line up at the moment seems to be what it'll be like, the presenters will change on a daily basis but the hours they work will be:

6-9 (2 Pres)
9-10 (2 New pres)
10 (1 pres)
1030 (1 pres)
11-2 (2 pres)
2-4 (2 new pres)
4 (1 pres)
1630 (1pres)
1700-2000 (2 new pres)
2000-0000 (2 new pres)
0000-0600 (1 new pres)

Hope that sort of makes sense!

Just to confrim Bob Friend has left becuase of his age, it would seem silly for the channel to make an announcement it's not the norm when someone leaves a channel / programme.

The bad news is that all programme names except the 9 O'Clock News and News at Ten will go, this means no Scene at 6/7 no Sky News First! Just Sky News with .... ? ....?

The desk is a sort of ash top and will have lights on the front with a sky news logo.

And finally to Mark who made the picture of Simon McCoy with backdrop well done it looks very good.  It's not quite right but very good, the video wall will not have seperate sources in it like the tv wall at the moment but it was very good!!!

Any news on Sky's Millbank facilties? New studio for Sunday with Adam Boulton/PMQs/new backdrop of Westminster for interviews (it's very old now!)

Shame that Sunrise, Live at Five names are going.

The previous info sounded good but FFS, will someone tell Sky to get their act together.
I seriously doubt whether Sunrise and Live at Five are going, that is too hard to believe, and may have been a mistake.

And Relaunch - were you the same person who posted in NotBBC, asking for details about the relaunch?

I doubt whether Sky News would suddenly change their plans to have The Scene/Tonight/First this late in the day. Won't they have had their opening sequences done already. I thought the delay was due to staffing issues.

This is really weird - and not just because this thread is actually invisible in the forum!

It would be a shame if Sunrise/Live at 5 went - although of course they haven't actually been called these names on-screen since the election revamp. To be honest, this latest schedule seems a bit more plausible - but I'm confused as to why it seems to have suddenly changed.

Let's take a look at the evidence.....
We were tipped off ages ago that Chris Rogers would be playing a major role, and it was heavily hinted that he would be paired with Kay, which he now is.
The presenter line-ups changed on September 3rd, including a new 9-1 (I think) shift.

This would seem to indicate that this schedule/line-up was decided quite a while ago - certainly before we were shown the schedule featuring The Scene@6/7 etc.

As a result of this schedule change, does this now mean that there won't now be the changes to lighting, astons, videowall etc on different programmes?

ReLaunch - do you actually work at Sky, or are you getting your info from someone there? Sorry if this sounds suspicious, but I'm a bit confused!

They've changed their plans so many times now and there have been so many rumours. It's just getting quite irritating.

Yep, certainly is!

Still, it looks like we'll be seeing some proper trailers some time soon, so they should give us our first proper glimpse of the new look. Only a couple of weeks to go, anyway...
