So, it would appear that Late Kick Off is back, and once again the studios vary wildly across the board, although with some improvements. I haven't taken a full look at every programme, but LKO East has left the EPIC studios (ex-Anglia TV) and moved into the main Look East studio in the forum. They've got some shocking yellow chairs and without the red it looks quite spartan.

*

Meanwhile, owing to London not currently having a physical studio, the new series there has the most peculiar arrangement of using Studio A at Broadcasting House, complete with the main news desk, but a new virtual set, which is a new curved set in the style of Studio B. For some reason, they've made it quite a small set, but I can imagine it would look quite nice in BBC News colours, and without the football pitch floor.

*

I think the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire edition is using a very cleverly disguised version of the Yorkshire news studio, where they've rotated by 90 degrees to make use of the weather screen.

*

I *think* there are a few more independant LKO productions this time around, as the South edition looks to be an indie now, as does the East and the North edition.

I do like that London News Set it looks really nice and that football pitch floor is quite a clever idea.

The Midlands version is on the road this time around and it's now made by an independent too, Jon Champion and Stan Collymore seem as if they're going to be regulars alongside Manish.

I suspect they've gone for that unusual angle on the Leeds set because LKO is often scheduled back to back with the SuperLeage Show which uses another redressing of the same set, and they want them to look at least slightly different.

Mondays are pretty busy at BBC Leeds, with Inside Out, LKO and the SLS all to play out.

I'm surprised they still do The Super League Show at Leeds and didn't shift it to the BBC Sports Centre at Salford.

Although BBC Sport does have this strange relationship of barely recognising TSLS exists though.

TSLS is I believe still regarded as a regional programme within the corporation, and used as a filler elsewhere.

Does it even get a BBC2 national outing anymore?

Tuesday Lunchtimes between 1300 - 1430 (depending on other programming) is it's usual BBC TWO slot.

I've never heard of it?

I've never heard of it?

True?

Next question.

It's a niche interest show that probably airs after your bedtime, so it's not surprising.

It's also made by an indie, who may be happy with using Leeds, which I suspect may well be cheaper than Salford.
