It wasn't in the last power failure, I think it's a shame really, high quality logos produced by this wonderful design company, only for the Beeb to not show it in widescreen, disapointing:(

Although the newsroom is widescreen, BBC World presentation is not.  The breakfiller, along with symbols are not widescreen in the transmission suite, and therefore if it was shown wide on N24 during the power failure (I didn't see it as I was being whisked up the motorway to set-up the emergency backup tx facilitiy) then it wasn't a true widescreen picture.

My guess as to why World isn't w/s is that there is little point as most people in the world haven't got widescreen services anyway.

I also have it on tape from the night of the power cut, and it was indeed shown as 14:9 in the 16:9 frame.

Exactly I have got a recording of it, and it was 4:3 zoommed into a 14:9 frame, therefore it wasn't widescreen, shame really BBC World idents looks wonderful in widescreen, can't they show it in 14:9 like the News perhaps?

Does anyone know if the design company also gave the BBC, the ad filler in widescreen?

Can you change Quicktime movies into RealPlayer files? Is it possible?

I think you can, but I don't know!

It's interesting to note how the main BBC have adopted widescreen on such a massive scale, while it's commercial counterpart BBC Worldwide have decided to stay in the 20th century!
