Alright is a common alternative to all right. So, it's ambiguous - but the situation didn't arise. Presumably, "all right Rita" and "It's alright Rita" would both be allowed.

Technically, "all right" and "alright" are different. The word "alright", for example, can mean something that is average, whereas "all right" has no such connotation. Basically, "alright" should be used when the meaning can not be conveyed with the words "all right", without confusion - and vice versa: for example, "his answers were all right" and "his answers are alright" are not interchangeable. "All right" is for the literal meaning of the words, whereas "alright" is for everything else.

Some valid comments I think guys.

I'd prefer a return to the Observation rounds of yesteryear, where a standard set of questions for all the contestants are answered via keypad. Not only much fairer, but in some ways a better spectacle, as all contestants are involved in answering all the questions.

That said, will we get a third series? Ratings had been falling week on week.

Well if SAGE will pay for it again I'm sure ITV will show it, though they'd be wise to reconsider the slot. Monday/Fridays 8pm taken up by University Challenge/Mastermind though, so unless ITV move Tonight from Thursday, it's possibly the only realistic slot available - though I think it would perform better early Sunday evening before Dancing on Ice.
