I've never seen this show before, but judging by that clip it needs a makeover.

yet more evidence that you are *not* 21. how anyone who is over 12 could not be aware of the krypton factor and burnsie is beyond me.

I'm 14 and I've seen it before. Mind you, it was on Challenge.

I'd agree about Mark Austin hosting the programme, it'd suit it well.

Mark Austin or anyone from ITV Sport really - or no longer with ITV Sport. Jim Rosenthal would probably be good, but I would imagine they'll go for someone younger.

Could of course be female too - so Myleene Klass it is then!

I've heard of it, yes, but I never watched it.

I'm sure it was repeated a lot later than '95 on ITV, as I have extremely vivid memories of the original format on that channel, even though I'd have been four or five years old at the most for the original showing.

Remember loving it lots though and have enjoyed the Challenge repeats, I don't see how it's going to come back without being completely ruined though.

Considering it's link with the North West and local news reporters, perhaps Richard Madeley could be a possibility.

And now Dermot Murnaghan has severed his links with Eggheads, it could be a suitable way for him to top up his Sky News salary and not get forgotten by the terrestrial TV masses.

I'm 16, and I can only assume I became aware of it from Challenge repeats in years gone by.

In response to Ben Shepard rumours... NOOOOOOO!!!!

Please not Mr Madeley!

Probably not most ideal but I'm going to throw Kaye Adams (Loose Women/People Versus) into the frame.

I'm sure by the time it's announced we'll probably have covered all possibilities, but if they did opt for female I could imagine Mary Nightingale or Kirsty Young suiting the role perfectly, or perhaps the most obvious choice Carol Vorderman, though she probably hasn't got the best relationship with ITV Productions at present.

Can't they just beg Gordon to come back? Wink

I think at his age nowadays he feels more comfortable, along with the viewers, with BBC North West Tonight.

Austin is a fantastic call and agree with others, would make a great presenter for the show - if its going to be done properly (or is it a case of brining back, make a hash and make sure it dies a death for good such as The price is Right, Supermarket Sweep, Crossroads)
