Did anyone else recognise Aaron, he was a former contestant on Deal or No Deal?

Yes, he was on in the early days and to my recollection was the first "stats man". That wasn't mentioned on his profile, though it did say he was on University Challenge in 2000 - another Granada show, of course.

Spotted on the UkGameShow weekly digest email:

The Krypton Factor watch, and this week's winner Aaron Bell has explained why there's only ever one female contestant, and why they're always in seat three.

It makes it very much easier to have reserve contestants - just make sure the opposition on the assault course is never clearly in shot, and insert the replacement to the studio rounds. Our thoughts to the standby contestants who didn't make it to air this series, and we rather hope they're allowed onto a next run. Mr. Bell also points out that about one applicant in five was female, so the split we see on screen roughly reflect the balance of applications.

Well can I just say good luck to "Company Director From Manchester" Matt Foster - a friend of mine!

I was in the studio for his heat and semi, although unfortunately I wasn't able to take advantage of the priority tickets for the final. It was shot the day after the semis.

Obviously I know who wins but I won't be ruining the surprise here! Smile

Is there a prize for the winner, or has the KF trophy been brought out of retirement?

Good question Rob... I saw the trailer (there has been one? Yes!) And it seems the bronze trophy has been melted down... and replaced by a cold blue 'K' trophy...
But, as with a lot of this series, you can't have everything...

Oh dear lord... that was a fantastic trophy. Does anyone know if the last KF champ still has the trophy?

I didn't mean that in a serious 'it has been melted down' way, I was kidding. It's like saying it's gone to the great trophy cabinet in the sky...

Or has it? I wish we had a number for 1995 champion Andy Wilbur...

Now, ITV, that is what I call THE trophy...

Now, that is what I call hideous. The new one sounds much nicer.

A good final - and well done to the winner...

(for those who have yet to see the repeat)

A Krypton Factor of 47 is massive

I bet the Puzzle compiler bloke was disapointed with his performance in the puzzle round

Fantastic end to what has actually been a great series - it's not that often that comebacks actually manage to live up to the original, but I think on the whole this has.

The main moan this series has been the assault course - but tonight it worked so much better being filmed as an individual time trial (I'm guessing it was filmed at the same time as the semi-finals) and actually with the split screens it felt much more of a race than the head to heads - even though we knew they were doing it individually, once it got to the latter stages it felt like they were all on the same course.

I lied the split screen and hopefully use that in the next series instead of the head to heads - or go back to the old army assault course in Bury (Walves/Hawkshaw/Greenmount area) - more preferable Very Happy
