Interesting stuff: it's sponsored by a certain software company and it looks like the sponsor credit flows directly into the opening titles, which must surely be sailing very close to the wind as far as OFCOM regs are concerned...

This Morning managed to get away with it for a few years, though, did they not?

Yep, as did Surprise Surprise for sometime aswell, both of those were sponsored by BT. And this was from a time when the Sponsorships rules were relaxed and ITV took advantage of it straight away. I'm sure this happens on the Comedy Awards and when ITV used to have the Britannia Music Awards.

I guess it's not too different to what Channel 4 do with Orange Unsigned Act or T-Mobile transmission.

As for Krypton it seems it's staying put at 7.30pm on Thursdays, so I can't see the audience being great for the programme. Although it does appear it's getting a Tuesday night post News At Ten repeat aswell.

Why don't they just swap The Krypton Factor and Emmerdale around so that it starts at 7.00pm. They have shown that Emmerdale usually gets more viewers than Eastenders when they are run against each other, so they shouldn't be worried. It makes sense! Why not go for it???

but then people will complain, oh emmer. on at 7.30 on some day and 7pm on others

I still think Mondays at 8.30pm would be the best time!

Actually, they don't - during Eastenders' running time, it almost invariably gets more. Emmerdale is boosted by the half-hour when it's not against EE.

Saw a promo for Krypton Factor last night, it looked amazing. Anyone know if they will do a re-cap of the show similiar to the ones they do on gameshow marathon?

Like Transmission and Unsigned Act, the Krypton Factor is an advertiser funded programme, so it's not sponsored by SAGE, it's effectively made for by SAGE.

It seems from the next week it'll get a repeat on Sunday afternoons around 5.30pm. If it's any good I think ratings should be healthy enough - Tonight can do pretty well against EastEnders and there is an audience out there who don't want to watch all the soaps.

Yes - I see what you mean there! That would be an excellent time!

I hope ITV are going to leave The Krypton Factor be in its new slot and not cancel it every few weeks for an hour long episode of Emmerdale Rolling Eyes

Emmerdale always gets an hour Thursday when there is football on Tuesday.

Exactly which is why they should just not bother with the hour long Emmerdale when that happens.

I'd imagine then it's safe until mid-February, but will probably get interrupted around the semi-final and final stage. From next season though all Champions League football moves to Wednesdays so it should no longer be an issue.
