I've been trawling the internet for ages trying to find stills and clips of the ITV nighttime ident which included people dancing in almost radioactive colours from the 90's. I have been lucky enough to find a few stills, and one very short poor quality video clip. Just wondering if anyone else knows where I can find some quality clips of this strange but fantastic nighttime sequence?
Also, was this ident nationwide or just on central? Does anyone know any background behind the creation of it (or anyone who was in it??) Its such a shame they got rid of it!
It was in London too - I was rather shocked to find these glowing dancing people when I had to wake up at 3.00am one day. They were rather good as well.
So I presume the dancers were presentation of the overnight service from LNN. At this time, Meridian provided a service (also on Anglia) that consisted of upbeat music and the ITV logo moving about erratically.
I think they also used to appear in the Granada, and later Yorkshire TV region. Not sure about that, though but I can remember seeing this in the mid 1990's and we can't get Central.
I can remember that I wanted to get hold of the music that played over the green ident, it was nice ambient chillout kinda sound.
I'd also be interested in any of these idents or information on what the name of the piece of music that was played.

Three of the pieces are 'Dance Trance', 'Deep Shadows' and 'Soft Focus' by Chambon/Simmons from Atmosphere Music Ltd.
Lots of great files all on one server. It includes continuity announcer auditions, Southern's final minutes, BBC Nicam Test transmission. Basically every file posted onto server by it's members over the last few years.
To gain access, click on http://www.meldrum.co.uk/mhp and click on the MHP chat icon. I think you need to join the mailing list to gain access to the private parts section but I'm not sure if it's 100% essential.

I'm sure I've seen them on Yorkshire, did they appear before or after YTV's Nightshift which saw some scantily clad woman swinging on the crescent of the moon and some saxaphone players.
Speaking of early Nighttimes services, anybody remember the one that used to appear on Anglia and Meridian (possible HTV) in the might 1990's that had the same sting used by this years Big Brother O2 sponsor adverts and had a TV inside some dank corridor and the camera sort of erratically rushed up to it and in it, it had a shiny spinning N symbol?
