I don't know if anyone reads The Daily Mirror, but the undercover reporter who got a job as a footman at the Palace said the Queen's Favourite programmes were the soaps, The Bill, and Kirsty's Home Videos. I don't know what to make of it but it seems unlikely that the Queen would be watching Sky One, let alone be a fan of Kirsty's Home Videos (especially the "uncut" ones!) but the Queen has got an injunction to stop anymore revelations coming out, so maybe she does!

There was an ident to support this last night, with Kirsty coming on screen saying I am now officially Queen of Home Videos, Thanks Ma'am! But I wondered WTF was that supposed to mean? Plus there was a trailer for it with a butler and some corgies. But I never knew Buckhingham Palace has Sky Digital.

Oh, come on! Buckingham Palace has got more than Sky Digital - the Queen Mother used to watch horse racing on channels, so it's not particularly surprising news they have Sky Digital.

As for Kirsty's Home Videos, well, um, strange!

Apparently Her Majesty used to have it taped for her to watch on Saturday nights. Perhaps Sky sent her copies?

I'd have though Buck House had virtually everything - the press office is based there and they'd need to be able to watch all channels.

Yes but do you think the Queen would allow these collander/woks to be stuck on Buck House? I presume not as it's probably listed... so they must get the channels somehow but probably not through satellite...

I did hear Sky News mention the other day that they can get Sky News at the palace (had official confirmation from a reporter who was there)...

Think i read somewhere that they have their own cable style network there where all Tv's can get all channels sort of thing without the need for a set top box.

Kind of like when you plug the cable wire direct into the back on the TV, you can pick up all sorts from, Sky News to PPV events Sky Movies

I wonder if they use taxpayers' money to pay for that???

I'm sure there's plenty of places you could conceal a dish in the building without it being seen from street level.

Incidentally, I was round there last Thursday, and had a wander past all the satellite trucks parked across the road. NBC News were alone in having a branded sat truck - meanwhile, the BBC, Sky and ITN were all plugged into a little cupboard full of ISDN boxes.

Apparently Bush's private office caused some disruption to HM's viewing

This was before the big story broke about the Mirror's reporter - any guesses as to who the "insider" is?
