What on earth were BBC1 programmers on when they came up with this idea?

Put simply, it's a ******* of Eggheads and Are You Smarter Than A Ten Year Old with some of Test The Nation chucked in for good measure. Except it treats the children in such a patronising way that I would be embarrassed to to be involved in the programme. The general knowledge questions are also just soooo stupidly simple, so much that Alice Tinker could answer them all without a hitch.

The audience is also scary. They seem to applaud everything, except what you're meant to. And John Barrowman is, while enthusiastic, a bit over the top. And we've been told that if the adults 'Beat the Kids' they will win £29,000 five times now.

Anyone else annoyed by this?

QUICK POST-WRITE EDIT: Did I just hear someone on the programme using a word beginning with "S" and rhyming with "binary bit"?

this show is a load of c**p.

I surprised the PC brigade are not complaining that Barrowman keeps calling the children 'kids'!

There not Goats you know!!

Yeah. Did we expect him not to be? He's always a bit OTT.

That was somewhat obvious: but he should be presenting Whose Line Is It Anyway and not The Kids Are All Right .

Seemed to be an other complicated format as well, compared to Are You Smarter Then.

I don't know why you guys are complaining.. Human Tetris may be coming to BBC1 soon. Laughing

Honestly, if it's not Norton it's a bother.

seems rather insulting to the average ten-year-old to assume adults are smarter, age is know precursor to intelligence I've seen babies smarter than some adults and they still **** themselves

Have you not seen Human Tetris though - brilliant, well, for five minutes on YouTube.

OT, but hopefully Vernon Kay's Beat the Star will do quite well and open up the doors for the return of more challenge/stunt based weekend formats, rather than just quiz after quiz after quiz.

Yes but judging from this clip http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Ll2kajMH2u0 Human Tetris would work best in the 9pm Friday night on Channel 4 slot imo.

Who could present it? Danny Wallace?

Graham Norton, it's the law that he must present Saturday night light entertainment on BBC One.

Seriously though, it's a novelty for about a minute. More suited to a one-off game in Takeshi's Castle, not to build a series around. It makes Celebrity Wrestling look good.
