Did anyone catch this tonight on C4? I thought it was quite funny and locts of mocks/recreations of tv related graphics. Have there been any other shows that parody TV channels in such a way?
Bugger, you beat me to it. I think even besides the TV pres-references, the show itself was very good, but I think it's a real treat for pres fans - it even went to the lengths of ripping the tune from the 80s BBC Video ident!
AFAIK, the only other sketch show I'M aware of making such references was End of Part One.
I thought it was done quite cheaply myself, with a lot of predictable jokes.
I'd rather have had 8 out of 10 cats personally!
On the other hand, good idea... just too 'bitty' and non-flowing for my liking... if the 'sketches' had been longer than it might've worked better. Less can sometimes be more, whereas with that there were too many channels and promos in one episode.

IMO I think if they were longer it wouldn't have worked better. The good thing about having short sketches and having so many is that if you get bored of a sketch or if it's not of your taste, you don't have to sit through it for long until a new sketch starts.
The "channel hopping" theme seems to be an editing technique they nicked from Star Stories - very quick and quirky. Somehow, I always find very quick cutaways from certain scenes or sketches very funny, hence the Jonathan Ross sketches became a favourite of mine.
Strange that the date on the EPG throughout was 18th July, i.e. last weeks date. I'm sure sure the Channel 4 scedhule is published a few weeks in advance so they could have got the date correct on the graphics. What would have caused the show to be knocked back by a week anyway?
I doubt it'll be a ratings success after tonight... the only people watching will be people interested in the media. It wont grab the mainstream comedy audience at all.
I thought it was the first "laugh out loud" sketchshow I've seen in quite a while. Perhaps users of this forum were too focused on the pres jokes, there were a lot of different elements to appeal to different viewers. Certainly nice to see something different and hats off to C4 for sticking it in a prime time slot.
By the way is this the second series? I seem to recall it getting a graveyard running before.
