As admirers, fans, supporters, and followers of this great man, like many thousands and thousands of people who love and adore this comic genius feel that it is well overdue that he be elevated to that of ‘SIR’ Ken Dodd.

Many supporters have been waving the flag for a campaign to see Mr Dodd be knighted to ‘Sir’ Kenneth Arthur Dodd.

Mr Dodd has entertained millions of people all over the world, he tirelessly works for various charities, brings a smile to the faces of people of all ages and what do you get for it, well certainly not a knighthood!

Yet it seems in this modern day Britain consumed by the daily goings on of A-list celebrities, the gongs, knighthoods and honours are awarded for the least of reasons.

Ken Dodd still holds the record for a 42 week sell out run at the London Palladium, is in the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest joke telling session ever, was voted by the people of Merseyside as the Greatest ever Merseysider, He celebrates 55 years as a *STAR* this year and during this time he has had numerous TV series of his own, and a string of hit records, including a number one hit, as well as serious acting roles to his credit, and still to this day, tours the Country to sell out theatre audiences at least 3 nights a week, driving over 100 thousand miles per year.

Ken is our most loved comedian, a children’s favorite, philanthropist of many charities and a wonderful all round personality, he well deserves the honour of a knighthood, and the title ‘Sir’ Ken.

Hi Ken.

Sir Bruce Forsyth should come first in my opinion.

This thread smells strongly of pork luncheon meat, seasoned with odour of diesel fumes. Specifically, those from a London to Glasgow Virgin Pendelino train.

Don't take that as an excuse to post a pic of said train, it's old now and you need to earn the right to post it besides given nobody using it now even knows the reasoning behind it.

It's actually hinting at Mr Harvey to post an image of said pork luncheon meat.

And my post wasn't particular to you, just the other interlopers wanting in on the big kid's fun.

Confusing affairs these "get across the message this post/thread is useless pictorially" posts, eh?

I think the Inland Revenue incident has meant that Dodd has fallen out of favour with the Establishment (NB he received the OBE before that)!

Doddy is making a return to the small screen next month, on the 4th-- presenting Songs of Praise . It will coincide with his 80th birthday. He is fronting the show at his local church, St John's at Knotty Ash; he will show viewers around Liverpool.
