I would say I'm a fan of Keeping Up Appearances, in that I like to watch it when there's an episode on TV. But having bought one of the series DVDs it does get a bit repetitive when you watch one after another.

I'm really into Yes, Prime Minister at the moment, but that's for another thread...

I always refer to Keeping Up Appearances episodes as ... "oh its the golfing one" or "oh its the one when her and Richard go to look at kitchens.."

I love them but they really need to open up the archive more - i.e. Series 1!

Here's a line for ya... "Whats up with Richard's foot?" "Oh leave him dear, he's got gout!" "I-i-its just athetes foot.." Laughing So British!

They dont seem to repeat series 1 very often. It seems to be ones ive seen many times before on BBC1 on Sundays.

After waiting for ages for series 5 to finally be released, here is what it will look like.

Thanks to Amazon for the pic.

At least the cover matches the series 1 - 4 box sets!!

What I was wondering, why is the series Birds of a feather not available?? Apart from series 1????? From what I heard, series 1 did not sell well at all, so they gave up on releasing any more of them???

The BBC Have released every series of one foot in the grave! I would have thought it would have sold well at first, but I bet the last few that have been released have only sold moderately.

Now that they have finished releasing one foot in the grave and soon to finish Keeping up Appearances, lets have Birds of a Feather BBC!! Anyone else want it?

Does anyone know a website which is devoted to Keeping Up Appearences? Or, does anyone have the immortal line of "The Boo-kayyyy residence, lay-deeeee of the house speaking" as an audio clip?

There's a problem with the rights, so its unlikely. Linda Robson was talking about it on a chat show the other day.

A problem with the rights preventing it being released on DVD, or being shown on TV again?? It’s not on any channel anymore, not even UKTV Gold???

The first season has been released on DVD, though whatever these rights issues are involve something from the second series onwards. These are usually either music clearance rights (repeat fees) or cast repeat fees (though these are usually cleared perpetually before filming begins).
