I guess Nora Batty will now be reunited with Compo.

Oh dear, according to Peter Sallis it looks like it spells the very Last of the Summer Wine then.
I guess it has to be said that Kathy was the last original iconic character of the show and you can see the bitterness that it seems Mr Sallis wishes he had a more notable comical role maybe.
I never saw Kathy in Crossroads but also saw her in Open All Hours - again typically portraying the Northern housewife character she did so brilliantly.

I think for most people it ended when Compo died anyway, and I'm sure Kathy herself quit at the time, only to return not long after.
In my opinion it went awful after Compo died, but then picked up a bit but then in the last few years with more deaths (Thora Hird, him who played Wesley Pegden etc) it's now just a bunch of old actors that you've seen in other programmes
Sadly Peter Salis looks quite old thesedays so I think they will now have to call it a day and end the programme shortly
Bizzarely the new series starts on New Year's Eve, that's a Wednesday

There's a new series already in the can? I missed that listed.
Peter Sallis didn't seem overly interested about doing a new series to be honest, I think he knows he and the series has had it's day now. But, we'll wait and see.
