Very sad news. A lovely lady by all accounts too.

I am shocked and saddened by this news. Kathy was a household name in our area, and was still presenting her radio programme on BBC Newcastle at the time of her sudden death.

RIP Kathy.

Very sad to hear this too. She was one of the foremost faces and voices of television when I was growing up in the North East.

She always came across with real warmth and character. Twitter, as well as the news articles, is full of comments about how lovely she was in person.

It was a bit of a thrill for me to walk past her open studio door during a broadcast when I was in BBC Newcastle's building a few years ago.

I can echo the above, very, very sad news.

Look North & Tyne Tees had lovely tributes to her this evening. BBC Radio Newcastle are broadcasting a tribute show to her on Sunday at the time she would have been doing her dedication show.
