Thinking about the Seesaw name in the office today, and I did get the meaning after a moments thought. So I agree that it's quite clever.

But as the MediaGruniad pointed out there appears to be all manner of domain name issues to sort out/pay people off with.
So, if my first suggestion of PCTV nailed as it treads on the toes of some software -
what about Re>view ?

i don't know why it was ever called 'Kangaroo', unless that was just a code-name for it.

'Boomerang' perhaps, if they wanted a playful name, since the programmes you've missed come back again for you to watch on demand.

There's already a channel called Boomerang, so you couldn't really do that.

Yes. Well done.

Kangaroo is an awful name, and so is seesaw - means nothing, but atleast it's not a psudo Latin word (like Contengenus).
But then I thought 'Orange' was a rubbish name for a mobile phone company, and still do.

It has to be something short and catchy but both computer and television based. i>player is out (as ITV and 4 won't want the project to take the name so intrenched with a BBC application) so what about...

PCTV ?

Nice to know your naming business is going well, Hatton Cross. Rolling Eyes

My main problem with See Saw is how it would sound on air. Compare and contrast:

'And if you missed it, you can view it on BBC iPlayer'
'And if you missed it, you can view it on See Saw'

As a clever name, it ticks all the boxes. As a brand, I'm not so sure.

I would hope it's more a case of "BBC iPlayer / ITV Catch Up / 4oD, available on SeeSaw"rather than the names being dropped in favour of one generic brand.

Sky have now relaunched their online VOD service to offer streaming downloads and rebranded it the "Sky Player", though the Anytime name remains for the TV service.

Or, to favour individuality, maybe SeeSaw could be available on iPlayer/4OD/ITV Catchup?

I see C4 have now launched a browser version of their catch up service at http://www.channel4.com/watchonline . Don't really get why it couldn't use the 4oD name.

Same here as well, all I'm getting is a white screen.
