Surprised nothing has been said following today's announcement.

I've only seen bits and pieces (there are several articles on Media Guardian if you're interested) on this but basically OFCOM have banned the advertising of "Junk Food" (High fat, high salt content) during any programmes which may appeal to under 16s.

On the one side campaigners have failed to get it completly banned before the watershed, while on the other broadcasters are shocked OFCOM have gone for under 16s - they were expecting it to be under 9s.

Therefore, as well as the banning of junk food ads in all children's programming, including complete bans on children's channels, other programmes aimed at an older audience are likely to be affected, with the first big casualty being The Simpsons, sponsored by Domino Pizzas.

Music programmes and channels will be hit, as will soaps Hollyoaks and Home and Away.

So what do you think?

I think if the government are that concerned about the problem they should be tackling it at source, not just one of the symptoms!

There was a report on this on our local news as apprently there are more overweight people in Wales. I think its a good idea as think of the cost on the NHS due to people having illness caused by being overweight.
