The whole thought of this seems dreadful. How low can we go? Evil or Very Mad

What next are we going to see? Dog Eurovision?

Shurrup! Don't put ideas into the heads of ITV bosses, otherwise that's what we'll get next year!

And presumeably, ITV don't have too much to lose by showing what the BBC didn't want. Unless cute little Tom Morley wins of course.

Actually, I think that ITV was the driving force behind Junior Eurovision, so it wasn't offered to the BBC in the first place.

Really? I didn't know that. As I understood it, the BBC declined Junior Eurovision.

IIRC, that is correct.

In regards to this programme... how bad can it be - we're always asking for more 'glitzy, live, variety' type shows and the Eurovision songs certainly class as 'variety' - most countries have a distinct type of music.

Indeed it will definally be variety.

Even though your'll all slagging it off here (and having your hourly go at ITV1) no doubt you'll all watch it and give regular 'isn't this a load of rubbish' updates throughout the evening. Just like what happened with the music awards the other night. If you don't want to watch it, watch BBC1 which has such delights as Celebrity Dog School and National Lottery Wright Ticket at the same time

The event will be hosted in the UK by ITV in 2004, no matter who wins tonight.

So it takes a Junior Eurovision Song Contest to make ITV actually start a programme dead on time! Smile

Oh my god! Am I really inside watching this on a Saturday night? Glad I'm going out later!!

Nice to see it in widescreen though, and the presentation looks ok.

There, I said a nice thing about it.

I can see Mark and Tara being quite good as commentators, they can be quite witty sometimes, and remember they've worked together before.

Is the colour red on the 2nd song there supposed to be going funny?!

The thing so far is scaring me. As said though, good to see it in widescreen.

And nice to see the proper EBU ident return - and in widescreen too!!! Much excitement!!!

Thankfully Tara and Mark are treating the contest with the respect it deserves - fantastic!!

Oh. My. God.

It's like some kind of weird nightmare. But worse.

I note they *do* have subtitles, but *not* in English - surely the whole point of Eurovision (apart from the aforementioned Wogan, political voting, scoring etc.) is the ability to mock the lyrics of the various countries.

Looks like they didn't do a proper camera rehearsal for song 4...

Now, don't forget - if we don't win this it's all Tony Blairs fault - well according to James Martin at least anyway.

It didn't actually start dead on time...it started at 6.59pm which is in my estimation, 1 minute too early! Rolling Eyes

And as for other people's comments about it being a nightmare, I totally agree! In fact, I shut the telly off half way through the first song!!!

And I don't normally do that at 7.05pm on a Saturday night!!!! Very Happy
