Julia Somerville quits ITN

So, Julia has quit ITN after 14 years, do we think other broadcasters will be after her ? Or is she destined for a career in regional news ?

Personally, I thought she was very good.

Did Julia not once work for the BBC? I'm sure she did! Anyway, I would like to see her on News 24.

What was the reason she quit?

The fact she was dumped from ITV News in favour of Kirsty Young/Mary Nightingale and given a job on the awful ITN News Channel, which she left ages ago and then a show on London only radio. Sad. She is great - but, yeah London Tonight with Alistair Stewart and Julia Somerville I reckon is probably most likely. Ummmmm....we'll have to wait and see.

Young Julia was indeed on the BBC in the late eighties. I have pics somewhere!!! Sad eh?

Yeah, she was a regular presenter on the Nine O'Clock News, often with Andrew Harvey in the days when the show opened with a shot of the presenters 'hovering' over earth.

Very good she was too, but Hell mend her for moving to ITN in the first place.
