Did anyone see the Yellow pages ad during Corrie (Or at least on Granada) repeating the original advert but at the end saying dedicated to.... I thought that they were going to start the ads again.

Yes, this was announced on Friday.

2001 is truly the year of disaster -Earthquakes,WTC Disaster in the World front,Harry Secombe,Ted Rogers,Bonnie the dog,Joan Sims,Mary Whitehouse,George Harrison,old Toys R Us advert etc all RIP...

The advert wouldn't have been shown this year if it wasn't for his death. It was quickly made after his death was announced. ITV companies happily slotted into their advert schedule at a reduced rate.

Yes, the advert was the first one in the Coronation Street break in every region.

Yes what a nice ad it was, it cam 11th in the 100 best ads of all time!

I honestly dont mean to offend Billy, but everybody has to die eventually. The Trade Centre was certainly a terrible disaster, but those you mention, especially Harry Secombe and Mary Whitehouse, had long long lives.

I dont mean it to sound heartless but its best not to upset yourself about it.

Very true - Boy am I not looking forward to any review of 2001. Last year we hardly had any tragedies. If I had to pick the biggest tragedy of 2000, I'd pick the Sarah Payne murder - that captured all of our hearts.
