In no way was it a harsh decision. Jonathan Ross should have known better with his age, and I'm all for humor on the BBC, but it simply wasn't funny, and rightfully Brand and Ross have been suspended.
They both should go for good, and get snapped up on gutter TV where they belong. You have to remember the BBC is mainstream, and Radio 2 certainly isn't the place for this kind of behavior.
I agree. When you are earning so much money like Ross and Brand, you do not have the right to do such schoolboy pranks.
Ross has mocked licence fee payers for ages now. The other week when Gordon Ramsey was on, he made a joke about how it was licence fee payers paid for truffles used by Gordon Ramsey.
He also has jibed constantly at how much he gets paid. This is what he deserves.
The whole thing has been blown out of proportion, it's ridiculous. I think Gordan Brown has better issues to be spending him time on don't you? Like getting the country out of the fu**ing mess he's driven it into.
Yeah, what Ross & Brand said to dear old Manuel was terrible and unfunny but if every comedian who belted out a bit of ill-judged comedy was sacked there wouldn't be any comedians at all. I find it ironic how a year ago the media were on their high horse declaring Russel Brand would never make it in America because they'd find him too offensive. Now they're chasing him out of Britain with pitchforks and torches.

Now what percentage of the 18,000 complainants actually witnessed the broadcast I wonder.
Yes inappropriate and vile. But surely there is some form of editorial control over this programme, it isn't just a free-for-all. What fate has the show's producer seen?
"On Tuesday afternoon, Sachs told the BBC that Ross had "personally delivered a letter of apology and some flowers" since the broadcast."
Proportion and blown are two words that spring instantly to mind.
Interesting that BBC News have on their ticker that Jonathan Ross' pre recorded chat show has been cancelled and will not be presented by anybody else, it just seems like they're making it a major point.
I agree about Al Murray, terrible timing I suppose.
In an instance like this with a chat show being cancelled, do they still have to pay the guests that would have been on the programme? It isn't as if they have been on it yet.
And what about the crew that work on the programme, would it really be that bad to not have it hosted by Jonathan, though admittedly it is his show and wouldn't feel right.
I was expecting this... in fact I was expecting Film 2008 to be pulled last night but it went ahead.
Quite frankly, it serves them right. To be honest, Radio 2 has gone downhill with them trying to cater for a younger audience with the likes of Brand, Ross, Chis Evans and Dermot O'Leary.
IMO Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross are not really Radio Two material - Russell Brand is more Radio One material if you ask me.
With the closure of Saga Radio and Radio 2 attempting to get a younger audience on board, it seems there is nothing left for the more mature listener, many of whom live on their own and only have the radio for company most of the time.
