I've never been a fan of Jonathan Ross but millions are and he's done absolutely nothing wrong here - I'm far more concerned that the British press are seemingly allowed to try and hound a man out of his job than what's being broadcast on TV and radio in this country.

In your opinion.

Not one held by Jonathan himself, or indeed anyone involved.

That said, the matter has been dealt with and should be laid to rest, as far as I'm concerned.

Why should it ?
There are many people who believe he got off very lightly and that apart from the enforced apology doesn't appear to show any signs of contrition.
It also raises important questions about how our licence fee is spent and how the BBC contracts-out programmes to commercial organisations.
I would have thought an internet forum devoted to discussion about matters pertaining to television would be a perfect place for such a continued debate.
Unless you think something like the end of Heartbeat is a much more important issue.

I disagree, I thought it did.

Go right ahead then. I think you're getting a little cross that people seem not to agree with what you have to say. Certainly no one is treading on your right to an opinion. I simply don't share it.

Oh spare us the nonsense, dear. If you have a point to make, make it.

Well, some may consider it a small price to pay.

His actual take-home pay isn't a matter of public record as he's paid by a private company

A private company owned by ....

A private company owned by him and his wife.

The BBC pays the company money for the 3 series and his company pays him and everyone else involved.

Therefore he is paid by his own company and that amount is not publicly known

You do know what he did don't you?

He didn't murder children
He didn't drown kittens
He didn't burn down a factory.
He said 4 words down a telephone on someone elses radio show... that's all

How heavy should the punishment be exactly?

As far as I can see, Mr Scott is behaving like a perfect gentleman, and you are acting up like a bitter old queen. You're making a fool of no-one but yourself, so unless you'd like to contribute to the entertainment of everyone whom you aggrivate on the forum, I'd urge you to stop.
