Ross is finished.
He was his own biggest fan but now he realises perhaps he wasn't the greatest thing to hit television since Simon Dee and look what happened to him.
The only way I can put it is that journalism and the media is on it's arse. They are literally waiting for any moment to pounce on Ross...
Manuelgate has blown over, and it should be left in the past. Brand has gone from the BBC and Ross got his well-deserved suspension. With all the apologies, that's enough for them. They've learnt their lesson, so let them get on with it. But some people just won't let go. If we hadn't put some of life's most distressing things behind us, we'd probably all die with depression.
Now we're all focusing on Ross with his comeback and, low and behold, something to talk about. He apparantly, and this is from a report I read, "joked about having sex with an 80-year-old woman with Alzheimers". Ross, who apparently said "I think you should, just for charity" to his producer who claimed was being frisked by an 80 year old woman. Now if I was told that, I'd have no idea who she was, and neither did Ross. He had no idea she suffered from Alzheimers, but according to some bloody journalists who I can't even identify with a newspaper as they're all over the bloody place, Ross knew all along, and pretty much said something like "Okay mate, sh*g the old girl with Alzheimers" which I'm pretty sure he didn't say. His excuse was a load of balls, I'll admit that, he claimed he was referring to hugging, but come on, it's pure bad luck that she was in that condition and Ross joked about her, but come on People of the Media, leave the poor man alone! Stop seeking for things to b*tch about, leave them alone, and report on something worth reporting! There are wars going on in this world, a credit crunch, recession.. but no, let's all focus on Jonathan Ross - nobody gives a sh*t anymore! He's a comedian, not a CBBC presenter! He's bound to be risque, it's what we expect!
I felt an urge to slap the guy from the Telegraph. So, we shouldn't have things some people like, for instance swearing, because the Romans killed Christians. And he said that with a straight face.
He really irriated me and just as offensive referring to poor people on Big Brother, how snotty can you get?
If he's going to be under this much scrutiny every week he'd be better off just quitting the BBC "IMO" and going somewhere where he can actually do what he does but without pissing license fee payers off. Channel 4 have been after him for years and their Friday Night lineup these days are dire "IMO" - he could do worse. Obviously it would be seen as a bit of a comedown and the radio show, Film 2009, the Bafta's and maybe the Radio show but if this stupidity is going to persist he's not going to have much choice but to go elsewhere. "IMO"

What stupidity would this be - people whose licence fee goes towards the grotesque salary of a largely talentless presenter would actually prefer that he didn't make smutty, toilet jokes at the expense of his victims who are not in a position to be able to defend themselves and who find a voice for their frustration in the Daily Mail.
Ross is the pin-up boy of a BBC completely out of touch with its audience and whose radio and TV shows only attract a small minority of the nation.

At 22:35 on a Friday night, for a television audience, 5m people is hardly a small minority of the nation.
I'd also love to know on whose behalf you are talking - unless you've actually been out and taken a poll of the full population of the UK on what they think of Jonathan Ross, then it's impossible to speak for the majority.
The majority of the animosity, you are correct, is sourced at the Daily Mail, and their intrepid nosey-parker reporter, Miles Goslett. That people on that ridiculous website (which turns more into a Heat magazine for OAPs by the day) are suggesting that he is "disgusting", "vile" and an "odious creature" have got to get their priorities right.
Myra Hindley was "vile". Ian Huntley was "disgusting". Harold Shipman was an "odious creature". This man is merely an overpaid, overhyped presenter of a television and radio show who, as a guest on another presenter's show, made remarks that went over the boundaries of taste. He has been held up to scrutiny and the decision was taken to suspend him (three months ago).
This time has now passed, and rags like the DM dredging his name up, as well as that of the marginally-now-more-interesting Andrew Sachs and his full supporting cast, are doing less for the family of Manuel as they are being hounded by the papers more than JR or RB did to them. That Sachs has now received more offers for work since the scandal is an interesting facet to the story but I doubt that there is any conspiracy, like some suggest.
The whole mess should be left well alone now. Some do feel that he hasn't been punished enough, but the fact is there are too many people who still like Jonathan Ross and would be annoyed at his sacking. Indeed many people are quite saddened that Russel Brand has decided to resign.
As license FEE payers (it irritates me when illiterate DM readers like "donny dehaviland, fleet carehome fleet, UK" or "Disgusted OAP, Tunbridge Wells, BROKEN BRITAIN" say "license payers") surely a more effective way of registering discontent would be to write to the BBC, rather than poncily and dramatically tearing up the license fee or writing scathing comments on a dingy message board.
I know of no-one who has ever found either Russell Brand or Jonathan Ross amusing.
Ever.
They may be fawned over by the Hampstead media luvvies and the tofu-eating sandalistas at The Guardian but for everyone I know of all ages, classes and cultures they're about as funny as an unflushed toilet.
And as for the yoof - anyone under the age of 30 with any sort of spirit in them is not sat in front of a television on a Friday night.

Yes.
Although let it be said, I have not let my personal opinions on the two's talent get in the way of my opinion on the whole issue. The funniness of the incident is irrelevant.

You are Richard Littlejohn and I claim my license fee.
You know very very little about the world which you have formed opinions on - I know many people who find Ross and Brand funny. I read the Independent, I wear lace-up shoes (with covered toes) and I'm a carnivore.
Oops! Looks like I don't fall into the bracket the Daily Mail would like me to fall into. If you think your opinion is the only one that counts (which you clearly do, judging by your attitude) then you're as arrogant and useless as you claim Ross to be.

Please tell us how much you think he gets paid
His actual take-home pay isn't a matter of public record as he's paid by a private company
A private company owned by ....
Someone other than the BBC, I would imagine, otherwise that would surely be a conflict of interest?
TBH I'm really getting bored of our lazy newspapers who really should be reporting on proper, actual news stories rather than someone who said something a bit out of order.
It comes to something when a bit of lewd language gets more complaints than grotesque violence (Dead Set, which I though was great but with the amount of blood & guts that was flying around in that I'm suprised the Heil didn't ask for Channel 4 to be shut down completely).
Also I should like to point out that there are people, of all ages who like Ross (although not so much Brand)
